Meritus is able to open the vaccines to community members 65 and up. There was an overwhelming response and the good news is that more than 250 community members have been scheduled to receive their vaccine tomorrow and Friday. The call center number – 301-790-8490 – only opened at noon on Wednesday, Jan. 6, but the lines were popular and very busy. At the same time, external phone lines at Meritus Medical Center and several Meritus Health practices had some issues and the organization worked throughout the afternoon to troubleshoot those. Work will continue working through the night with our phone carrier to increase call capacity to our call center and will notify the public of the phone line being available again through our website, MeritusHealth.com, We are asking the public continue to have patience as we move as fast as we can to offer this access to the vaccine that is in high demand. We anticipate the call center to have a delay in opening tomorrow, Jan. 7. Updates to when the call center will be open will be posted mid-day on Meritus Health website.
